erm, it's a tournament

random teams

team size will be set after knowing how many players signed up

for example

it might be a 3v3 tournament
with 5 teams

i'll use a randomizer (like a dice) to choose teams

i'll only personally mess with it or randomize them again if a team only gets strongest players and another the weakest players

Well i can't play the tournament bcs i've any lag with my laptop and i can't play often with my desktop so i can't join the tournament

I'm sorry, but I can't do during the weekdays.

It's best since most players should have a day off.

For those who I ruin their "I go out and roxxer the streets day" I can only say, sorry, but it's reasonable.
And that's why I announced the date 2 weeks before the actualy match.
So everyone can plan ahead.

I apologize for the more brash,inconsiderate and disheveled members of my gender. Rapier's behavior is totally unprecedented and whatever he is saying is not on purpose,rather the effect of alcohol on the mind. One might argue that alcohol is the best truth serum,as it often captivates the mind of the consumer to blurt out things he may be hiding from everyone,maybe including himself too. But I assure you this is not the case,as it is obvious such form of talk is not sexy,it is rather rational and common among the more sophisticated classes of our society. You will not ever experience any inconvenience from now on.

And like I mentioned before, everyone is allowed to spec, even those who didn't sign up to play.

Anyway, about the lag.

I wouldn't call a high ping lag, with a 200 ping you have a 0.2sec delay, means, everything you see and do is 0.2secs in the past. Sure, that's a handicap for a fast-pace shooter like UT2003, still, it IS playable.
It's not like you will have any package loss (like, shooting combo balls and they're not coming out).
Even if the spec slots should be full, I doubt your ping will raise more than 40 than your usual ping.

Besides, usually when I run my server I've other stuff running (like MSN, xFire, browser stuff and other games), though for the tournament I'll shut everything down except my own UT2003, the WebAdmin and a word document to write down stuff. Should smooth the gameplay a lil too.

I recommand everyone to do the same

And you're one of the few who are complaining about lag on my server.
Even players with a 180 ping and higher said, that the server is running very smoothly.
Anarki and Homer even get a 300 ping there and can play fine and w/o problematic lag.


To answer the last questions:

Yes, T3vT4 will be right after T1vT2 and not on sunday.
We'll only move on to sunday, if the other matches take too long and a few players have to jump off before it's actually over.

I have planed how to move on after these 2 matches, though I wanna wait till we actually get there.
Since last time we tried this, 50% of the players didn't show up and all plans went overboard, which caused chaos and the games started 40mins later with barly improvised teams.
This time I leave it half-open so we can quickly improvize, if the players don't show up after 10mins after actual match-start.

EyE made a post that he probably can't make it, so me or Soul might play in his place


Anyway, I decided to post how it will move on anyway...though like I said, this is just how it will be, if everyone shows up!

I know, it looks weird, but like I said in the beginning:

This is not a tournament to prove whose best, but a tournament for fun!
And I'm trying to make sure that each team has enough matches against (hopefully) different teams, while there's still the chance that you might end up fighting the team you fought before for a revenge
